About the role
Responsibilities
- Receive, evaluate, and prioritize staff service requests related to building maintenance, space needs, and audiovisual equipment.
- Coordinate and track work requests with U-M Facilities and Operations, vendors, and campus partners.
- Manage incoming and outgoing deliveries, including supplies, equipment, and mail across multiple ITS locations.
- Assist with office moves, including the transport of files, equipment, and personal work materials.
- Maintain office and general supply inventories and place orders as needed.
- Provide professional customer service to ITS staff, vendors, and visitors.
- Maintain accurate records of requests and work orders using appropriate ticketing systems.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a related role requiring customer service, organization, and troubleshooting.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a University-owned vehicle.
- Proficiency in entering and maintaining information in databases or ticketing systems.
- Ability to move, transport, and maneuver equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to ascend/descend stairs and work in various campus locations, including loading docks and storage areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or certification in facilities management or business operations.
- Experience working in a higher education or technology-focused environment.
- Experience using work order, inventory, or space management systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or CAD software.
- Basic knowledge of office AV equipment and workplace technology.
