Facilities Assistant

Responsibilities

• Clean communal areas including sweeping, hoovering, dusting, mopping, and polishing
• Maintain cleanliness in office areas, including desks, furniture, and storage areas
• Clean and sanitize staff and communal bathrooms, WCs, showers, and baths
• Clean and sanitize kitchens, including appliances like fridges, ovens, and microwaves
• Wash and launder communal fabric items such as curtains and towels
• Clean and clear void properties to ensure they meet re-letting standards
• Perform deep cleaning of offices, communal areas, and kitchens as required
• Order and organize cleaning materials and equipment to ensure sufficient stock
• Store cleaning materials and equipment safely in accordance with policies
• Minimize waste of cleaning materials to ensure value for money

Requirements

• Good standard of spoken English to understand written policies
• Previous experience as a Facilities Assistant for a housing provider, local authority, hospital, or care home
• Experience using domestic and commercial cleaning equipment
• Strong understanding of safe working practices and COSHH requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• GCSE English at grade 4 or above
• Full, current UK Driving Licence
• Experience working with vulnerable young people
• Knowledge of safeguarding and lone working best practices
