About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide face-to-face counselling and psychotherapy to children and young people (aged 11-25) with low to moderate mental health needs
- Manage an individual caseload and perform clinical administration, including CAMHS liaison
- Assess and manage risks and needs for each service user, ensuring appropriate signposting and referrals
- Maintain accurate case notes and records using approved systems in compliance with data protection and safeguarding legislation
- Liaise with external professionals such as schools, social services, GPs, and parents regarding referrals and safeguarding concerns
- Attend clinical supervision, management meetings, and mandatory in-house training sessions
Requirements
- Level 4 qualification in Counselling and Psychotherapy or equivalent
- Registered status with BACP, UKCP, NCS, COSCA, or an equivalent recognised body
- Minimum of 450 completed supervised clinical practice hours as a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist
- Experience providing face-to-face mental health support
- Proficiency in using psychological wellbeing assessment tools and outcome measures (e.g., PHQ9, GAD7)
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and legislation
Preferred Qualifications
- Suicide Prevention and Self-Harm Mitigation training
- Specific training in safeguarding and risk management interventions
