Fabrication Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate workers involved in metal structural fabrication processes
• Interpret approved drawings, specifications, and job orders to assign duties to the team
• Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas
• Follow engineering plans to meet daily and monthly production targets
• Inspect materials, products, and equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
• Conduct employee training regarding equipment operations, safety procedures, and company policies
• Assess production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for job completion
• Coordinate operations and activities with other supervisors and foremen across departments
• Order necessary supplies and materials required for shop operations
• Recommend improvements for production methods, equipment performance, and product quality

Requirements

• Proven experience supervising metal fabrication processes
• Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications
• In-depth knowledge of metallurgy, specifically regarding plates and pipes
• Experience with production scheduling and labor estimation
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while following SOPs

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialized knowledge in pipe supports fabrication (cradle/saddle supports, clamp supports, trunnion, and reinforcement supports)
• Experience designing and making dies and fixtures for pipe support production
