About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules for fabrication operations including press brake, laser/turret punch, welding, and staging
  • Sequence work orders to optimize flow, minimize changeovers, and align labor and machine capacity with demand
  • Release and manage shop orders, travelers, and dispatch lists to ensure clear priorities on the shop floor
  • Partner with Fabrication Supervisors to adjust schedules based on labor availability, equipment uptime, and WIP levels
  • Coordinate with Materials and Purchasing to ensure material availability and resolve shortages or expedites
  • Monitor WIP, backlog, and schedule adherence to identify risks to on-time delivery
  • Review engineering drawings, routings, and BOMs for accuracy prior to scheduling
  • Maintain accurate master data in ERP systems, including routings, lead times, and work centers

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years of production planning or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, capacities, and constraints
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, routings, and bills of material
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in HVAC, indoor air quality, or made-to-order manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to Lean or continuous improvement methodologies (flow, WIP control, capacity balancing)
  • Experience supporting high-mix, low-volume production
  • APICS/ASCM CPIM coursework or certification
