Fabrication Machine Operator (Laser)

Responsibilities

• Operate various machinery, specifically Amada CNC Lasers, press brakes, and punch presses to manufacture parts from sheet metal
• Prepare, set up programs, and adjust machines according to product plans and production schedules
• Ensure sufficient raw materials are available and measure/align materials for use
• Inspect finished pieces to evaluate compliance with quality standards and specifications
• Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean work area

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience operating machinery such as a press brake, punch press, or laser
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints, drawings, and product plans
• Basic computer and math skills
• Ability to lift 35 pounds and perform prolonged periods of standing, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in metal fabrication or a related field
• Ability to safely and effectively operate or learn machining controls
