Fabrication Fitter I

Responsibilities

• Utilize blueprints to fit up and fabricate metal components and equipment
• Tack weld or weld components and assemblies using GMAW, SMAW, and FCAW processes
• Perform first-order inspections to ensure accuracy and dimensions meet quality standards
• Use jib and overhead cranes to move assembled parts
• Demonstrate safe working practices and standards in a manufacturing environment
• Maintain a positive work environment by embodying core company values

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Beginner to intermediate experience in welding, metal fabrication, and fitting
• Good mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals, and basic geometry
• Knowledge of Oxy fuel and hand plasma cutting
• Ability to operate saws, cold saws, shears, and punch presses
• Proficiency with common fabrication tools such as tape measures and tri-squares
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
