Fabrication Fitter

Responsibilities

• Utilize blueprints to fit up and fabricate metal components and equipment
• Tack weld or weld components and assemblies using GMAW, SMAW, and FCAW processes
• Perform first-order inspections to ensure accuracy and dimensions meet quality standards
• Use jib and overhead cranes to move assembled parts
• Demonstrate safe working practices and standards in a manufacturing environment
• Lay out, position, and secure metal parts using common fabrication tools

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Beginner to intermediate experience in welding, metal fabrication, and fitting
• Strong mathematical skills, including geometry, fractions, and decimals
• Knowledge of Oxy fuel and hand plasma cutting
• Ability to operate saws, cold saws, shears, and punch presses
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in a warehouse/manufacturing shop environment
