Fabric Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of Azure SQL workloads, including stored procedures, functions, and views, into Microsoft Fabric execution patterns.
• Design and implement modern data solutions using OneLake, Lakehouses, Warehouses, and Fabric Data Factory.
• Build medallion-style architectures (bronze, silver, and gold layers) to support scalable analytics.
• Maintain and migrate Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Factory (ADF) workloads and pipelines.
• Partner with reporting teams to ensure Power BI semantic models and reports maintain continuity through Direct Lake or DirectQuery architectures.
• Implement DevOps best practices using Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment standards.
• Document data lineage, source-to-target mappings, and transformation rules.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database, including complex development and performance tuning.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric technologies (OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2).
• Proven experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) orchestration and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and ELT/ETL patterns.
• Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and large-volume data processing.
• Working knowledge of Power BI semantic models and downstream reporting impacts.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and release management.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Fabric Mirroring and low-latency replication strategies.
• Working knowledge of Spark, PySpark, Delta Lake, and Parquet.
• Exposure to Azure Machine Learning, MLOps, or Microsoft Purview.
• Advanced Power BI experience, including DAX optimization and aggregation strategies.
• Microsoft Certifications (e.g., Fabric Data Engineer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate).
