FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot/Photographer

Responsibilities

• Capture aerial video and photography for news-related scenes including crime scenes, traffic accidents, fires, and community events
• Operate drones to transmit live video from active scenes to affiliated television stations
• Conduct pre-flight planning, post-flight analysis, and maintain detailed flight logs
• Perform routine drone maintenance and troubleshoot technical issues
• Ensure strict compliance with FAA regulations and company safety policies
• Collaborate with producers and news teams to execute project goals and meet deadlines
• Drive the company drone vehicle to storage locations and various news scenes

Requirements

• Valid FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
• Proven experience flying drones in various environmental conditions
• Familiarity with drone software, navigation systems, and UAV technology
• Strong understanding of airspace regulations and safety protocols
• Knowledge of local geography, roadways, mass transit, and traffic patterns
• Valid State Driver’s License with a clean 5-year DMV history (no at-fault crashes or DUIs)
• Ability to work odd hours based on news station requests
