Extrusion Technician II

Responsibilities

• Provide manufacturing and engineering support to extrusion operations, including machine set-ups and troubleshooting
• Perform tear downs and set-ups for extruders and co-extruders
• Achieve and maintain established cycle times and process parameters
• Diagnose and troubleshoot processing errors such as O.D., I.D., ovality, and concentricity
• Perform accurate manufacturing parts inspections using quality equipment like gauges, micrometers, and tooling scopes
• Read and understand tooling prints, part prints, processes, and documentation
• Conduct basic maintenance on extruders and auxiliary equipment such as driers, melt filters, and cutters
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives including scrap reduction and cycle time reduction
• Order production tooling and supply items as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of extrusion experience, including tooling, troubleshooting, and machine set-ups
• Experience working in a GMP environment
• Proficient computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree
• 3 or more years of relevant extrusion experience
• Experience in the medical device industry
