Extrusion Production Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the manufacture of building products to meet production demands while ensuring quality, safety, and environmental responsibility
• Hire, supervise, evaluate, and train manufacturing team members
• Develop and implement staffing guidelines to maximize human resource utilization
• Train personnel in tooling, troubleshooting, machine set-up, operation, and safety procedures
• Assign personnel to extrusion lines and oversee area rotations and break schedules
• Complete or oversee paperwork for line operation, operator logs, PM logs, and audits
• Use statistics or SPC to control the extrusion and production process
• Identify and assist with continuous process improvement and 5S implementations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, Management, Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• 1-3 years of supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in sheet extrusion or fenestration strongly preferred
• Proficiency in STOP and 5S principles
• Strong mathematical and mechanical skills
• Proficiency with calipers and other measuring devices
• Ability to communicate and train non-degreed operators

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of PVC resin/compound blending
• Experience with work orders, schedules, and priorities
