Extrusion Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate blown film extruders to produce materials that meet quality standards at optimum rates and yields
• Set up equipment operation, including feed, speed, and temperature settings
• Perform quality checks on extruded materials and troubleshoot inconsistencies
• Monitor production schedules and inspect raw and process materials for visual and measurable attributes
• Perform minor maintenance, cleaning, and screw cleaning as required
• Utilize computer software for daily data collection and production communication
• Operate specialized equipment, including radiation units and forklifts (training provided)
• Assist in receiving raw materials and bailing scrap material as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills
• Ability to stand on concrete floors for 12-hour night shifts
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs frequently (requires two-person lift for items over 40 lbs)
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and stands
• Ability to work overtime and every other weekend as scheduled

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in process manufacturing
• Experience with blown film extrusion
