Extruder Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate extrusion machinery to produce tubing according to established specifications and procedures.
• Perform dimensional and visual testing to verify wall thickness, speed, texture, and inner diameter using manual or electronic measurement equipment.
• Conduct water chlorination tests for tube cooling to ensure quality and proper chlorine parts per million.
• Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance, including cleaning, greasing, and lubricating machinery.
• Adjust or replace simple parts to maintain optimal machine performance.
• Pack produced tubing using plastic covers and place them into boxes.
• Inspect and document materials, production parameters, and scrap according to plant procedures.
• Monitor automatic controllers to ensure the process remains within validated parameters.
• Prepare production reports, including downtime, scrap, and pre-run checkouts.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with EHS regulations.

Requirements

• Experience in extrusion machine operation and peripheral equipment.
• Proficiency using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, manometers, scales, and rulers.
• Ability to use computerized equipment and basic computer literacy.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Mechanical tool proficiency for making minor machine adjustments.
• Physical ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
