About the role
Responsibilities
- Purchase scrap metal to meet or exceed tonnage goals while optimizing profit margins
- Visit dealers and industrial suppliers in person or by phone to promote new and repeat business
- Prospect new clients through door-to-door visits to individuals and small businesses
- Develop reliable contact networks to stay updated on local and regional market trends and pricing
- Negotiate new contracts with clients
- Perform P&L analyses
- Coordinate with administrative and sales teams to ensure accurate documentation of purchase transactions
- Provide feedback and recommendations on scrap purchase prices for AIM sites
- Perform coaching for the team
Requirements
- College diploma in business, sales, or marketing
- 1+ years of experience (recycling or ferrous/non-ferrous metals industry is an asset)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent mathematics, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to travel throughout the territory
- Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset for the Quebec region
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of metal alloy identification
- Experience with CRM software
- Leadership experience
