About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of a strategic engagement workplan for multilateral affairs in Rome, focusing on Rome-Based Agencies (FAO, IFAD, WFP).
  • Coordinate institutional-level dialogue and partnerships between the World Bank Group and UN organizations.
  • Monitor and analyze policy, governance, and institutional developments within Rome-based agencies to assess implications for WBG engagement.
  • Draft high-quality briefs, talking points, remarks, and messaging for senior management ahead of bilateral meetings and major events.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen partnerships through joint initiatives, knowledge work, and operational collaboration.
  • Support the organization of high-level meetings, roundtables, and international fora.
  • Collaborate with communications teams to ensure all products are consistent with the corporate voice and priorities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the United Nations system, specifically the Rome-Based Agencies.
  • Demonstrated experience in multilateral engagement, stakeholder coordination, and partnership development.
  • Broad understanding of agriculture and food systems transformation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to produce high-quality content under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web-based research tools.
  • Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Italian and/or French.
  • Experience creating content specifically for the agriculture or rural development sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across different units and Vice Presidencies within a large international organization.
