About the role
Responsibilities
- Inspect assigned areas of infestation to determine appropriate extermination methods
- Properly bait sites using insecticides, rodenticides, and traps following safety protocols
- Manage a daily route of assignments efficiently
- Prepare reports using mobile devices regarding equipment usage and work performed
- Assist supervisors with rodent exclusion and stoppage work
- Inspect demolition sites for pre-demolition rodent control compliance
- Operate city vehicles safely in accordance with State laws
- Maintain pesticide applicator licensure and complete required continuing education
Requirements
- Valid NYSDEC Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator certificate (Category 7A)
- Valid New York State Motor Vehicle Driver License
- Ability to perform physical fieldwork including standing, bending, and lifting in various weather conditions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in typing for formal reporting
Preferred Qualifications
- A valid driver's license with a good DMV record
- Experience in pest control or related chemical handling
