Exterminator

Responsibilities

• Inspect premises and investigate infestation complaints
• Apply bait and rodenticide according to protocol and label directions
• Post warning signs where pesticides are applied in public areas
• Maintain extermination schedules and keep computer-based records
• Instruct the public on safety precautions before and after pesticide application
• Inspect demolition worksites for pre-demolition rodent control compliance
• Use and maintain city-issued equipment, materials, clothing, and vehicle

Requirements

• Valid NYS Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator certificate (7A)
• Valid New York State Motor Vehicle Driver License
• Experience with insecticides, rodenticides, baits, and traps
• Ability to maintain records and prepare reports
• Strong organization, teamwork, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Computer experience
• Supervisory experience for higher assignment levels
