Extended Term Consultant

Responsibilities

• Map and structure engagement with Parties and stakeholders to advance contributions to the Adaptation Fund under Articles 6.2 and 6.4 of the Paris Agreement.
• Produce a prioritized pipeline of candidate cooperative approaches under Article 6.2, including counterpart mapping and risk considerations.
• Develop engagement instruments such as Letters of Intent or MoUs to advance transactions and contribution pathways.
• Support engagement with key stakeholders, including governments, international organizations, and carbon market platforms.
• Deliver a targeted stakeholder engagement plan with specific contact strategies and success metrics.
• Prepare outreach materials, talking points, and briefing notes to position the Fund within evolving carbon market discussions.
• Provide qualitative and quantitative analytical support to inform decision-making regarding resource mobilization.
• Monitor and synthesize developments in international and voluntary carbon markets relevant to the Fund's mandate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum of five years of professional experience in climate change, carbon markets, sustainable finance, or related fields.
• Demonstrated expertise in carbon finance and knowledge of sustainable finance instruments.
• Proven experience in project management, including planning and executing climate-related projects.
• Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into concise language.
• Thorough understanding of climate change policy, market issues, and the challenges faced by developing countries in accessing finance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in French and Spanish.
