Extended Day Program Teacher

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement curriculum and lesson plans for children aged 4 to 12
• Supervise children and teaching assistants to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment
• Establish and maintain positive interactions with parents through conferencing and regular communication
• Plan and execute daily activities and routines for the Extended Day Program
• Maintain organizational procedures, including attendance, supply inventories, and behavior logs
• Collaborate with school personnel and researchers within a research-oriented school environment

Requirements

• Proven experience as a teacher in a school-age program
• Ability to apply Early Childhood theory and approaches to classroom teaching
• Skill in writing grammatically correct lesson plans and curriculum units
• Proficiency in communicating clearly with children, parents, and diverse staff members
• CPR and first aid certification from an accredited organization (e.g., American Red Cross)
• Ability to follow detailed medical instructions for dispensing medicine when authorized
• Knowledge of environmental health and safety policies to protect children's well-being
