Export Specialist

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate necessary documentation for the lawful execution of all export activities via ocean or air freight
• Coordinate cargo pick-up and transfers while monitoring shipment status
• Communicate with export authorities, customers, and suppliers to ensure efficient and lawful relations
• Obtain spot rates and correspond with overseas agents regarding pre-alerts, rate requests, and shipment status
• Track shipments and provide timely updates to customers and agents
• Create and maintain customer files, including invoices and payable approvals
• Perform data entry and audit files to ensure accuracy and completion

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience handling exports (air and/or ocean)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of US customs laws, practices, and procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Fluency in English
• Strong organizational and communication skills with high attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the freight forwarding industry
• Proficiency in additional languages
