Export Control Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage classification of hardware, software, and technical assistance by determining and validating Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN)
• Collaborate with Product Leaders and Engineering to integrate technology control requirements into design and delivery processes
• Review and challenge supplier-provided ECCNs to ensure accuracy and mitigate compliance risks
• Lead business teams in identifying export license needs early in the project lifecycle
• Manage end-user verification processes and coordinate with the Legal Department for license applications
• Monitor the validity of active licenses and oversee the implementation of restrictions such as embargoes
• Act as the business focal point for internal and external audits regarding Export Control

Requirements

• Qualified Engineer with a technical background
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience
• Proven knowledge of EU, French, and/or US (EAR/ITAR) export control regulations
• Proficiency in English (C1 level)
• Ability to work in multi-functional teams and handle complex, prioritized subjects
• Willingness to travel occasionally

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of French, German, or Spanish
• Familiarity with Airbus products, services, and organizational structures
• Basic knowledge of airline operations, MRO environments, and project management techniques
• Experience with data analytics and digitalization
