Export Compliance Associate

Responsibilities

• Assist with managing export classifications, licensing pathways, authorizations, and regulatory documentation
• Refine and enforce export compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls across ITAR, EAR, sanctions, and foreign-access requirements
• Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Legal, and Program teams to vet suppliers and screen transactions
• Implement policies to enable robust supply chain and partner vetting

Requirements

• 3+ years of export compliance, trade compliance, or defense/aerospace compliance experience
• Hands-on experience with ITAR and EAR requirements
• Experience with ECCNs, USML categories, commodity jurisdiction/classification analysis, and DDTC/BIS licensing
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. sanctions and restricted-party screening
• Proven ability to build and enforce compliance policies across cross-functional teams
• Experience training internal teams on export compliance and handling controlled technical data
• Strong documentation and audit-readiness skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Empowered Official
• Experience with the State Dept DDTC or Dept of Commerce BIS
• Experience scaling companies from Series B+
