Explosive Detection Canine (K9) Handler

Responsibilities

• Partner with a trained Explosive Detection Canine (EDC) to conduct searches at assigned client sites, including corporate buildings, loading docks, and delivery vehicles
• Assist and liaise effectively with client security managers, law enforcement agencies, and local partners to execute security protocols
• Properly train the K9 partner daily in accordance with company policy, ensuring their safety and well-being
• Adhere to all regulatory protocols and the use of required security technology

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years of experience in military service, law enforcement, or corrections
• Access to a private vehicle for the safe transportation of the K9 partner (public transportation is not permitted)
• Ability to house the K9 partner at your residence
• Willingness to be available for incident response, standby duty, and client demonstrations

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior civilian or military K9 handler experience
• Completion of a full military handler course
• Service in a Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement or security (e.g., Military Police, Combat Arms)
• Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice
• 8 or more years of military service
