Expert Writer, Medical Content Development

Responsibilities

• Write and create high-quality medical and scientific content, including Scientific Response Documents (SRD), FAQ documents, slide sets, abstracts, posters, and training materials.
• Drive the document development process from initial material gathering through to medical, legal, and regulatory (MLR) review meetings.
• Manage content within document management platforms such as Veeva PromoMats or MedComms, including reference anchoring and annotations.
• Perform scientific data fact-checking to support medical reviewers during the MLR process.
• Collaborate with management on strategy, tactical execution, and communication approaches for assigned client projects.
• Support the creation of thought leadership articles, newsletters, and congress presentations.
• Mentor and coach team members and assist with onboarding as necessary.

Requirements

• PharmD, PhD, or MD degree.
• Minimum of 4 years of medical writing and content development experience within the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry.
• Direct experience in Medical Information, Medical Communications, or Scientific Communications.
• Proficiency in the AMA Style guide and understanding of clinical research principles.
• Experience conducting literature searches using tools such as PubMed, Ovid, or Embase.
• Experience with reference management and citation software (e.g., EndNote, Mendeley, or Citavi).
• Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively in a matrix team setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing medical content for new product launches.
• Proven track record of publishing abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.
• Experience working across multiple therapeutic areas.
• Proficiency with Veeva Vault MedComms or PromoMats.
