Expert - Solid State Circuit Breaker

Responsibilities

• Define and optimize topologies for solid-state/hybrid circuit breakers, fault current limiters, and fast protection devices
• Lead high-fidelity switching behavior and fault scenario simulations using LTspice or PLECS
• Track power semiconductor roadmaps including SiC and GaN for product innovation
• Contribute to industry working groups such as CIGRE, IEC, and IEEE
• Work with R&D and product development to translate technical insights into market-ready solutions
• Mentor engineering teams on advanced power electronics and protection concepts

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field
• 5+ years of professional experience in power electronics design
• Hands-on experience with hybrid DC breakers and semiconductor-assisted interruption
• Expertise in coordinated energy absorption design including MOVs and snubbers
• Experience with high-power converters (MVDC/HVDC, drives, renewables)
• Deep understanding of semiconductor device physics and switching behavior
• Experience with gate-driver design for high-voltage/high-current devices

Preferred Qualifications

• Track record of patents, publications, or technical whitepapers in power electronics
• Participation in industry consortia or R&D projects
