About the role
Responsibilities
- Define and optimize topologies for solid-state/hybrid circuit breakers, fault current limiters, and fast protection devices
- Lead high-fidelity switching behavior and fault scenario simulations using LTspice or PLECS
- Track power semiconductor roadmaps including SiC and GaN for product innovation
- Contribute to industry working groups such as CIGRE, IEC, and IEEE
- Work with R&D and product development to translate technical insights into market-ready solutions
- Mentor engineering teams on advanced power electronics and protection concepts
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in power electronics design
- Hands-on experience with hybrid DC breakers and semiconductor-assisted interruption
- Expertise in coordinated energy absorption design including MOVs and snubbers
- Experience with high-power converters (MVDC/HVDC, drives, renewables)
- Deep understanding of semiconductor device physics and switching behavior
- Experience with gate-driver design for high-voltage/high-current devices
Preferred Qualifications
- Track record of patents, publications, or technical whitepapers in power electronics
- Participation in industry consortia or R&D projects
