About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and provide engineering execution support for wellwork operations, including drillouts, remedial workovers, and plug and abandonment.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure operations integrity and regulatory compliance throughout the well lifecycle.
- Monitor daily progress of wellwork operations, track costs, and recommend cost-effective changes.
- Develop well cost estimates and assist management with budget planning and surveillance.
- Interface with Operations for rig scheduling, execution support, and troubleshooting.
- Manage contractor interfaces, monitor KPIs, and ensure timely delivery of equipment and services.
- Perform risk management strategies covering safety, well control, and contingency planning.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to less experienced Wells Engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline.
- 5-15 years of Oil & Gas experience.
- 3+ years of direct wellwork experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in Wellview.
- Ability to travel to well sites to support Permian Basin operations when necessary.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in unconventional shale assets, specifically the Permian Basin (Midland or Delaware).
- Familiarity with challenging well operation environments.
- Exposure to analytics tools such as Spotfire or PowerBI.
