Experienced FX Artist

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and animate digital effects elements and methodology for computer generated FX animation
• Create elements, effects, pipelines, tools, and techniques reflecting physical dynamics of natural phenomena
• Meet productivity and quota targets to ensure show and client deadlines are met
• Develop solutions and techniques that meet art and technical direction
• Participate in dailies, rounds, and team reviews of work in progress
• Interact with production, supervisors, and peers to problem solve and share information
• Follow through on shot turnovers, briefings, notes, and feedback

Requirements

• Ability to create multiple types of digital effects from simple to moderately difficult
• Comprehensive knowledge of Houdini and techniques used to create stunning effects
• General knowledge of VEX, shading, lighting, and rendering
• Strong eye for behavior and movement relating to physical simulation
• Working knowledge of Linux based operating systems
• Experience working on feature films or equivalent within an FX pipeline
• Must provide a demo reel illustrating relevant artistic and technical experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Katana, Nuke, and Python
