Expanded Functions Dental Assistant

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, sterilize instruments, and set up trays for dental procedures
• Assist dentists during procedures and manage medical or dental emergencies
• Record treatment information, medical histories, and vital signs in patient records
• Expose dental diagnostic x-rays
• Provide postoperative instructions and oral hygiene education to patients
• Fabricate temporary restorations and make preliminary impressions
• Pour, trim, and polish study casts
• Order and monitor dental supplies and equipment inventory
• Schedule appointments, prepare bills, and process payments

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of Dental Assistant coursework or equivalent experience
• Valid certification in Expanded Functions Dental Assisting
• Valid Indiana Dental Radiography license
• CPR and First-Aid certification
• Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control compliance
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
