Executive Editor

Responsibilities

• Shape GQ's voice and editorial direction across print, digital, and video platforms
• Oversee the end-to-end editorial process, including commissioning, editing, and production workflows
• Manage and mentor a senior editorial team, providing regular feedback and talent development
• Partner with content strategy and editorial operations to optimize processes and resource allocation
• Translate editorial priorities into scalable franchises, tentpole events, and off-platform opportunities
• Contribute to audience growth strategies, including subscriptions, social expansion, and video programming
• Collaborate with global leadership to align US content with international priorities

Requirements

• 10+ years of senior editorial experience, preferably in a multi-platform media organization
• Proven leadership experience overseeing print, digital, and video editorial operations
• Deep understanding of audience development, digital publishing, and video strategy
• Strong editorial judgment and a clear, differentiated point of view
• Experience managing large teams and complex workflows
• Ability to balance long-term strategic vision with day-to-day execution
• High emotional intelligence and the ability to lead through influence
