Executive Director, Senior Lead Commercial Real Estate Underwriter

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex CMBS loans ranging from approximately $5MM to $150MM
• Complete underwriting and financial models for transactions
• Conduct due diligence on property cash flow, operating expenses, tenant leases, and estoppels
• Review third-party reports including environmental, engineering, and appraisals
• Field questions from Rating Agencies and investors regarding transaction underwriting
• Identify risks, mitigate associated issues, and prepare internal risk ratings
• Prepare and present credit approval memos
• Manage and train junior team members
• Work with senior leadership to enhance platform efficiency and influence long-term business goals

Requirements

• 7+ years of Commercial Real Estate Underwriting experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS), balance sheet, or debt fund lending
• Extensive knowledge of bank and CMBS lending programs and credit policies
• Experience with non-recourse, cash flow-based lending structures
• Strategic planning experience and ability to translate vision into executable initiatives
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex material to diverse audiences
