About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all physical plant operations, facilities management, and capital construction projects.
  • Execute the campus master plan, including long-term facilities planning, deferred maintenance oversight, and utilities procurement.
  • Supervise a diverse facilities staff of approximately 40 individuals, including facilities supervisors, support staff, and union employees.
  • Manage end-to-end capital projects from conceptual design through construction completion, including contract administration and budget development.
  • Oversee comprehensive building maintenance (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC), housekeeping, custodial operations, and waste management.
  • Administer collective bargaining agreements and ensure regulatory compliance with EPA, DEP, ADA, and other local/state requirements.
  • Direct work order management through CMMS and implement preventive/predictive maintenance programs for critical infrastructure.
  • Develop and administer annual operations and utilities budgets, providing regular fiscal analysis and projections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, facilities management, business, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in Facilities Management, Construction Management, or Project Management.
  • Proven experience working within a unionized environment, including labor relations and managing collective bargaining agreements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education, K-12, or healthcare environments.
  • Experience managing large-scale campus master plans and deferred maintenance projects.
