About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership for the development, implementation, and administration of undergraduate and graduate nursing and allied health programs.
  • Lead curriculum development and ensure alignment with state regulatory requirements, professional standards, and accreditation expectations.
  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty and staff while fostering a collaborative academic culture.
  • Manage departmental budgets, including personnel, operating expenses, and program resources.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with healthcare systems, hospitals, and community organizations to support clinical placements and internships.
  • Collaborate with university leadership to support student success, recruitment, and retention initiatives.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in nursing, health sciences, public health, healthcare administration, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Academic credentials sufficient for appointment at the rank of associate professor or professor.
  • Progressive experience in academic leadership (e.g., department chair or program director).
  • Demonstrated experience with program development, accreditation processes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience managing budgets and supervising faculty and staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading new academic program development or launching new colleges/schools.
  • Demonstrated success in building healthcare partnerships and clinical education networks.
  • A record of scholarship, grant development, or securing external funding.
  • Familiarity with state nursing board regulations and healthcare accreditation standards.
  • Experience working in institutions committed to access, student success, and workforce development.
