Executive Director, Local Food Distributor

Responsibilities

• Own the Southeast Chapter’s performance across operations, sales, and financial outcomes
• Oversee warehouse, logistics, and delivery systems to ensure food safety and compliance
• Drive continuous improvement in accuracy, efficiency, and operational discipline
• Expand institutional sales with schools, hospitals, and universities
• Deepen relationships with regional farmers and producers to improve supply alignment
• Lead and develop a cross-functional team, building a culture of accountability and respect
• Represent the organization within the regional food system and engage with key partners

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of leadership in operations, supply chain, or food distribution
• Proven experience managing a P&L and delivering measurable financial outcomes
• Track record of leading teams of 10+ staff, including frontline operations
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders
• Experience with CRM/ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce or inventory management software)
• Deep alignment with mission-driven work regarding regional food systems and equity
