Executive Director, Lawson Climate Institute

Responsibilities

• Drive the development and execution of strategic initiatives to accelerate the global transition to net zero
• Lead stakeholder engagement and scale the Institute to achieve global ambitions
• Provide strategic leadership for Institute programs, including establishing short-term and long-term performance objectives
• Develop and manage strategic partnerships across institutional, governmental, and sectoral borders
• Oversee strategic communications plans and prepare key progress, impact, and financial reports
• Manage organizational governance, including budget allocation, research funds, and staff hiring
• Collaborate with the Academic Director, faculty, and senior University leadership to align priorities

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in financial management or business administration
• 10 years of experience in strategy development, implementation, and external relations
• Proven experience in senior administrative roles managing complex relationships
• Demonstrated experience in financial, human resources, and communications management
• Strong knowledge of organizational governance
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to summarize complex information
• Strong negotiation, project management, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate degree in business
• Experience working in a high-growth unit or a "start-up" environment
• Experience leading teams in a complex or unionized organizational setting
• Experience within a University or large-scale research environment
