Executive Director, Data Science

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and operation of high-rigour analytical and machine-learning systems within a regulated financial-services environment.
• Define the AI/ML roadmap for Enterprise Solutions, focusing on anomaly detection, variance analysis, drift detection, and forecasting.
• Own the full model lifecycle, including data exploration, feature engineering, back-testing, deployment, and ongoing performance monitoring.
• Ensure all models are production-grade, explainable, and capable of withstanding operational and regulatory scrutiny.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, data platform, and product teams to transition models from problem definition to production operation.
• Act as a technical mentor to other data scientists through code reviews, pairing, and technical leadership.

Requirements

• 17+ years of experience working with analytics, data science, or ML systems in production.
• Proven experience delivering applied machine learning within banking, capital markets, or similarly regulated, data-intensive environments.
• Deep grounding in statistics, machine learning, time-series analysis, and predictive modelling.
• Expertise in production ML system design, including batch vs. real-time inference and model serving patterns.
• Practical experience designing explainable models using feature attribution and transparency techniques for regulated industries.
• Strong ability to work with large, complex, and imperfect datasets.
