About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic, operational, and administrative coordination for the Senior Advisor and Strategic Advisor within the Faculty of Medicine.
  • Manage complex governance, administration, and external relations projects involving health authorities and government officials.
  • Conduct research and prepare briefing notes, presentations, and materials for internal and external constituents.
  • Act as a primary point of contact, managing communications and linkages between the Dean’s Executive team and UBC Health leadership.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of various projects, including identification, implementation, and outcome evaluation.
  • Handle highly confidential and sensitive information with extreme diplomacy, tact, and discretion.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of two years of related professional experience.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding, high-pressure environment.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience providing executive-level support within a large, complex organization.
  • Experience working with senior-level leadership and diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of University policies, governance, and administrative systems.
  • Proven ability to communicate professionally and tactfully, both orally and in writing.
  • Experience in project management and group facilitation.
