About the role
Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth running of the kitchen department and high-level guest dining experiences
- Develop and implement strategies based on key kitchen metrics and tracking tools
- Manage the team life cycle, fostering growth, development, and performance
- Prepare and manage the departmental budget, controlling costs and inventory
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Review food offering performance and provide recommendations to drive financial results
- Ensure adherence to all legislation, due diligence, and best practice activities
Requirements
- 4+ years of relevant experience in a kitchen
- Prior experience as a department head in a similar property is required
- Proven experience in a kitchen position, ideally within a hotel environment
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Degree in Hospitality Management preferred
- Very good command of written and spoken English
