About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct business integrity due diligence for pipeline and portfolio investments, providing analysis and recommendations to senior management
  • Undertake financial crime research and due diligence for pipeline investments and engage with external consultants as required
  • Serve as a key liaison between the Responsible Investing and Investment teams to operationalise BII’s Policy for Responsible Investment
  • Monitor the portfolio for integrity issues and escalate material risks or incidents appropriately
  • Support investees in strengthening financial crime prevention controls, including anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, and sanctions compliance
  • Respond to significant business integrity issues such as governance failures or conflicts of interest
  • Contribute to thought leadership and the development of briefing materials regarding responsible investing themes

Requirements

  • Significant experience in identifying, assessing, and addressing financial crime and integrity risks
  • Proven ability to conduct financial crime-focused research and due diligence, both remotely and onsite
  • Strong knowledge of UK and international regulatory requirements, including AML/CFT and anti-bribery/corruption regulations
  • Experience developing and evaluating financial crime compliance programmes and risk assessment frameworks
  • Excellent research, analytical, and report-writing skills
  • University degree in a relevant field (postgraduate qualification preferred)
  • Ability to influence senior business leaders and manage a diverse workload independently
