About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary administrative support to the Assistant Deans within the Office of Student Affairs and Services
  • Manage complex schedules, deadlines, and commitments for the Assistant Deans
  • Prepare confidential and sensitive correspondence regarding reorganization, grievances, discipline, and risk management
  • Prepare presentation and support materials for use in advisory and governance bodies
  • Perform initial intake and screening of reports related to concerning student behavior or volatile situations
  • Liaise with senior administrators, faculty, staff, students, and community members
  • Provide backup support to the Dean of Students Executive Assistant and ad hoc support to Directors
  • Coordinate divisional events, maintain meeting records, and manage office files

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of administrative support experience (or 3 years of senior administrative support)
  • Significant experience in a post-secondary setting, specifically in student affairs or services
  • Experience with basic accounting and financial administration
  • Fluency in MS Office suite and experience with computerized scheduling software
  • Strong writing, editing, and fact-checking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive, confidential, and emotionally charged situations with discretion
