About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage the Vice President of University Marketing and Communication’s calendar, including arranging all internal and external appointments and meetings.
- Handle departmental purchasing by creating purchase orders, managing invoices, and tracking transactions via Ramp card and other methods.
- Create, edit, and distribute the "Bulldog Weekly" newsletter using Smartsheet and Constant Contact.
- Monitor and track departmental budgets using Banner data.
- Coordinate UMC-sponsored events, tradeshow logistics, and travel arrangements for department team members.
- Prepare, proofread, and develop written proposals, reports, and presentations for Board meetings and campus events.
- Maintain confidential files, record minutes, and serve as a media point of contact or escort for campus visitors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
- Strong proofreading and written communication skills.
- Experience in budget monitoring, record keeping, and managing confidential correspondence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software such as Banner and Argos.
- Knowledge of basic marketing and communications practices.
- Experience working in higher education or a similarly complex organization.
- Proficiency with Project Management software, Smartsheet, Canva, Adobe, or ChatGPT.
- Experience with email marketing applications like Constant Contact.
