About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate college-level events including receptions, awards ceremonies, town halls, and conferences
- Serve as the central point of coordination for event logistics, timelines, budgets, and vendor management
- Partner with college leadership, faculty, staff, and campus support units to align events with institutional priorities
- Deliver high-quality, inclusive, and well-managed event experiences for students, alumni, and external partners
- Provide comprehensive logistical oversight to ensure all activities support the college's strategic engagement goals
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent and four years of progressively responsible work experience in public contact roles (e.g., hospitality, sales, or conference coordination)
- Proven experience planning, coordinating, and executing events
- Exceptional customer service skills and strong attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and calendaring systems
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel occasionally as required
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in higher education or a complex organizational environment
- Experience coordinating events involving senior leaders, advisory groups, or external stakeholders
- Background in hospitality, conference services, or professional event management
- Familiarity with accessibility best practices and inclusive event design
