About the role

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate college-level events including receptions, awards ceremonies, town halls, and conferences
  • Serve as the central point of coordination for event logistics, timelines, budgets, and vendor management
  • Partner with college leadership, faculty, staff, and campus support units to align events with institutional priorities
  • Deliver high-quality, inclusive, and well-managed event experiences for students, alumni, and external partners
  • Provide comprehensive logistical oversight to ensure all activities support the college's strategic engagement goals

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent and four years of progressively responsible work experience in public contact roles (e.g., hospitality, sales, or conference coordination)
  • Proven experience planning, coordinating, and executing events
  • Exceptional customer service skills and strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and calendaring systems
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel occasionally as required
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in higher education or a complex organizational environment
  • Experience coordinating events involving senior leaders, advisory groups, or external stakeholders
  • Background in hospitality, conference services, or professional event management
  • Familiarity with accessibility best practices and inclusive event design
