Events Concierge

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive and positive support to clients, guests, caterers, and service providers
• Organize and set up for events, classes, and functions at the UBC Botanical Garden
• Perform opening procedures and troubleshoot basic facility or event requirements
• Act as a liaison between the venue and clients to ensure event specifications are met
• Manage facility security by handling issued keys and performing lock-up procedures after events
• Enforce venue policies and event contracts in a professional, non-confrontational manner
• Perform post-event maintenance, including organizing assets like chairs and tables
• Drive the visitor cart for scheduled events

Requirements

• High School graduation
• One year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Availability to work evenings and weekends (varied hours between 9am and midnight)
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 Driver's License
• Previous experience in hotel or event services
• Ability to resolve client complaints calmly and exercise sound judgment under pressure
