Events Audio Technician

Responsibilities

• Lead audio engineering for campus ministries (Chapel, Vespers) and performing arts productions (Music, Drama).
• Manage and maintain digital audio, lighting, and AVL networks to ensure seamless connectivity.
• Perform regular evaluations and maintenance of sound systems and recommend necessary upgrades.
• Coordinate technical support for internal campus events and external facility rentals.
• Mentor, train, and oversee student technicians to ensure high-quality production standards.
• Maintain a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends based on event needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in live audio, video, lighting (AVL), and technical networking.
• Proficiency in both analog and digital audio mixing.
• Ability to configure and manage AV-specific networks and Dante-based systems.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs, climb ladders, and work at significant heights.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot integrated AVL systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Live Production, Audio Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant technical certifications such as Dante, CTS, or manufacturer-specific training.
• Experience with Extron, HiQnet Audio Architect, or Python.
• Working knowledge of LED pixel mapping and presentation software like ProPresenter.
