Event Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide logistical support for internal, special, and rental events at the museum
• Supervise the load-in, installation, and load-out of vendors and equipment across event spaces, loading docks, and catering areas
• Act as a liaison between museum staff, guests, and third-party vendors to ensure clear communication
• Set up, clear, and restore event spaces using carts, dollies, signage, and stanchions
• Oversee the safety of guests and staff while providing high-quality customer service
• Assist with museum opening and closing procedures, including directing caterers and operating freight elevators
• Support event operations including coat check, wayfinding, and assisting the Event Manager as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of event management or on-site venue experience
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in professional event planning or hospitality
• Previous experience working within a cultural institution
