Event Setup Attendant

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare event spaces according to work orders and instructions
• Move event equipment to and from storage using hands, carts, or other equipment
• Follow established set-up procedures to ensure efficiency under tight deadlines
• Maintain organized and stocked equipment storage spaces
• Adapt work patterns to accommodate museum visitor traffic flow
• Follow all safety protocols and facility policies to ensure a safe environment
• Partner with the Facility Set-Up Supervisor to meet event needs and schedules
• Demonstrate professionalism and respect when interacting with co-workers, visitors, and vendors

Requirements

• Experience in customer service, retail, or hospitality
• Ability to lift 50-75 lbs frequently
• Ability to lift up to 125 lbs occasionally
• Ability to push/pull up to 300 lbs on a wheeled cart frequently
• Ability to push/pull up to 1100 lbs on a wheeled cart occasionally

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with event or banquet set-up
• Experience working under tight deadlines
• Cultural competency and experience working with diverse communities
• Fluency in languages other than English (such as Hmong, Somali, or Spanish)
