Event Director

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive long-term event strategy to drive growth, positioning, and profitability.
• Own the overall event P&L, ensuring budgeted costs are adhered to and revenue targets are met across exhibition, sponsorship, and delegate streams.
• Mentor, manage, and recruit a high-performance cross-functional team to drive event growth.
• Build and maintain outstanding relationships with government supporters, host partners, and senior industry stakeholders.
• Collaborate with marketing, production, and operations teams to deliver engaging content, compelling messaging, and seamless onsite experiences.
• Manage and grow the international agent network to increase exhibitor pavilions.

Requirements

• Significant experience in a senior leadership role within an international events organization.
• A proven track record of launching and growing large-scale international events.
• Deep understanding of the education sector and the ability to translate industry trends into event features.
• Direct experience with full P&L responsibility and financial management.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain high-level relationships with senior stakeholders and government entities.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing sales pipelines and revenue targets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with government-backed or high-profile international sector events.
• Proficiency with Salesforce and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong public speaking and presentation abilities.
