About the Company

Blue Star Families (BSF) is a national nonprofit dedicated to supporting military families by providing programming and resources while strengthening their connections to their local communities. We partner with businesses, government agencies, and local organizations to create impactful programs that empower and uplift military families.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute a minimum of three (3) and maximum of four (4) NTS food distribution events across the New England region
• Secure venues and coordinate logistics for each event
• Manage food sourcing and distribution setup
• Oversee on-site execution and breakdown
• Coordinate vendors, resources, volunteers, and community partners
• Document event statistics and submit post-event summary reports within 48 hours of each event
• Deliver a digital print-ready resource guide and materials to support military families in accessing food security resources

Requirements

• Ability to operate as an independent contractor (1099)
• Capacity to manage logistics and execution across the New England region (CT, ME, MA, NH, RI)
• Responsibility for own tools, equipment, software, taxes, and insurance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering community-based events or large-scale logistics coordination
• Experience with food distribution or food access programs
• Experience in partnership or vendor coordination across multiple locations
• Experience in resource development or creating community-facing materials
