Evening Circulation and Building Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and courteous library circulation and interlibrary loan services
• Supervise and train student assistants in tasks such as shelving and checking materials
• Maintain a professional atmosphere and ensure the orderly use of the building
• Implement and communicate library policies to patrons clearly and tactfully
• Assist users with library equipment including photocopiers, printers, and microfilm readers
• Conduct regular building sweeps to re-shelve materials and straighten furniture
• Secure and close the building each night and follow emergency procedures
• Resolve non-routine issues and patron complaints, referring serious matters to management

Requirements

• Minimum of an associate's degree
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with high attention to detail
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
• Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, and moving of books and carts

Preferred Qualifications

• Related library work experience and familiarity with library systems
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
• Previous supervisory experience
