Evening Anchor

Responsibilities

• Use editorial judgment to help determine the content of newscasts
• Work with producers and the newsroom team to create unique, fast-paced, and innovative newscasts
• Develop, write, shoot, and edit news stories for on-air broadcasting and digital platforms
• Use social media to identify trending content and highlight significant social stories
• Write and post daily content across all digital platforms, including social media and the web
• Develop original content through social listening and independent community sources
• Interview news subjects and conduct research to ensure facts and credibility
• Utilize creative production techniques, such as graphics and new media, to enhance storytelling

Requirements

• Minimum 5-7 years of news anchor or reporting experience
• Proven ability to deliver on-air news in an engaging, exciting, and accurate manner
• Strong skills in writing, shooting, and editing news stories for television and mobile platforms
• Ability to write in an exciting, captivating, and authentic manner
• Experience with the latest editing and photography tools
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a news-gathering vehicle
• Strong social media content creation and digital engagement skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Journalism or Communication degree
